Praia da Rocha, Portugal's most popular and famous beach, is famous for its wide strip of sand longer than a kilometer, surrounded by picturesque rocks heated by sun.
Recently, the beach was ennobled, a network of wide wooden paths was laid throughout its space, along which the beach infrastructure is located.
By the road around the promenade of Praia da Rocha there are hotels, bars, open cafes and restaurants, discos and the famous casino in Marina in Portimão. Thanks to all these institutions, tourists will not stay hungry, relaxing on a magnificent beach with a bright, lively festive atmosphere.
Standing on the observation deck, you can see the western tip of the beach with the "Three Castles" - three separate rocks in the ocean, and in the east the beach closes to the fortress of Santa Catarina de Ribamar, located at the mouth of the Arade River. The audience will enjoy a magical panorama of the coastline between the picturesque Ponta João d'Arens rock and the Ponta do Altar lighthouse.
Equally picturesque are the mouth of the Arade River and the nearby ridge of Serra de Monchique hills.
Despite the fact that there are traces of man-made intervention in the landscape, and in the vicinity of Praia da Rocha it is impossible to avoid meeting other tourists, nature has preserved all its pristine charm and extraordinary beauty.
In the surrounding rocks there is a danger of landslides and stones falling from cliffs. You should be careful when walking in the mountains, when climbing to the tops, you should be at a safe distance from the edge of the rocks.
