The museum hosts folk holidays "Seeing Off Maslenitsa", "Trinity Festivities", "Yablochny Spas", as well as various thematic festivals.
The Perm Territory has more than 130 museums with rich funds and collections. Such cultural phenomena as the Perm animal style and Perm wooden sculpture are world famous. The first finds of the cult bronze casting, united by a common name as the Perm Animal Style, date back to the 4th century AD. Science is lost in conjecture when and by whom these mysterious objects were made. Of greatest interest are the images of creatures that have no analogues in reality: a fantastic bird with an animal face, a flying bird with a mask on its chest, a fantastic lizard-like creature, winged human-voices. Mysterious finds were found in hoards, sacrificial complexes and places of metallurgical production. The items were used in the form of pendants-amulets and were part of the costume, and were also used in cult rituals.
The largest collection of objects of the Perm animal style is kept in the Cherdyn Museum of Local Lore, as well as in the Perm Museum of Local Lore, the Komi-Permyak District Museum in Kudymkar and other museums in the region. Images of the Perm animal style are often used in souvenirs, decorations and in the design of building facades.
The uniqueness of Perm wooden sculpture is that it combines elements of paganism and Christianity. The indigenous population opposed the conversion to a new religion, they were more accustomed to worshiping "humanized" gods, so they carved Orthodox saints out of wood. A notable feature of the "Permian gods" is that their faces reflect the nationality of the carver. The largest collection of Perm wooden sculpture is in the Perm Art Gallery, more than 450 exhibits.
