The name of the legendary Peter I, the last Tsar of All Russia and the first Emperor of All Russia, is associated with the glorious history of Voronezh. In 1696, Peter I, preparing for the Azov campaign, chose Voronezh as the site for the construction of warships. Since then, it has firmly established itself as the cradle of Russian shipbuilding. One of the significant events in the life of Voronezh residents was the opening in 2014 of the Goto Predestination Museum (from the Latin for "Divine Providence") - an operating copy of a warship. The historic ship was built in 1698-1700. at the Voronezh shipyard by Russian craftsmen Fedosey Sklyaev and Lukyan Vereshchagin according to the design of Peter I, and launched on April 27, 1700. This was the first Russian battleship, created according to the project of the emperor and without the participation of foreigners. The king was not just a co-author of the drawing, he took part in shipbuilding work, supervised the ceremony of laying the hull. Now a copy of a warship and the interiors of the Peter's era can be seen by everyone: residents and guests of Voronezh.
