Salzburgerland is a federal province of Austria located in the center of the country.
It borders Germany and Italy, as well as the Austrian federal provinces of Upper Austria, Tyrol, Styria and Carinthia.
The capital of the Salzburg Territory, city of Salzburg.
The Salzburg Territory is divided into 5 districts and 119 communities with a rich natural and cultural heritage.
Districts
The resort region "Salzkammergut" is a country of lakes.
From the capital of this federal state, Salzburg, you can easily get and swim to the lakes of Oberrumer See, Mattsee, Wallerssee (Flachgau), located in the middle of the meadows and fields of the Flachgau district, as well as other equally wonderful lakes.
In the province-owned part of the Salzkammergut district, Lakes Fuschlsee and Wolfgangsee (Flachgau) are the most popular. And from the shores of Lake Zeller See (Pinzgau), which is located next to the resort town of Zell am See, offers a magnificent view of the ice-covered peaks of the Alpine Mountains in High Tower National Park. Worthy of attention, the tiny lake Gasteiner Badesee (depth up to 4 m), with very good water quality, is located between Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein.
