Costa del Maresme is the next resort south of the Costa Brava zone of Catalonia near Barcelona.

Since the Costa del Maresme is near Barcelona, it is most convenient to fly here. Regular direct flights from European capitals to Barcelona are operated by many international airlines and the Spanish low-cost airline Vueling, and charter flights are added to the "high season". A suburban train departs from Barcelona towards the coast every half hour, making stops in all surrounding resort centers. The one-way fare is about 7 EUR.

In the historical part of the city of Callela, it is worth exploring the church of Iglesia de Santa Maria, built in the 16th-18th centuries in the neoclassical style. In Malgrat de Mar: the church of Sant Nicolau de Bari and the Torre d'n Riera tower of the 16th century, as well as a large number of palaces and villas built in the Art Nouveau style. Nearby (in Pineda de Mar) is the Can Halpi Palace of the 15th-16th centuries. In Castel Park, do not be lazy to climb the observation deck, which offers a magnificent view of the city.
On the Costa del Maresme near the village of Carretera de Maldrat a Palafalls between the resorts of Malgrat de Mar and Blanes there is a famous water park "Marineland". On 40 thousand m2 there are many water attractions for adults and teenagers, as well as a special children's area with three swimming pools and attractions for children under 6 years old. In addition to water attractions, Marineland is famous for its mini-zoo with performances featuring dolphins, sea lions and parrots. In addition, Catalonia hosts the only exhibition of birds of prey, natural enclosures where seals and penguins live. This is an ideal place for the whole family to relax: in the park part under high umbrella pines there is a picnic area with a bar and restaurant - in short, neither adults nor children will remain indifferent. The cost of the entrance ticket is approximately 27 EUR (children discount). Tourist buses bring here vacationers from all over the coast. For connoisseurs of outdoor activities, there are diving and sea sports clubs in Santa Susanna, Callele and Mataro. It should be borne in mind that even beginners can dive in Santa Susanna, there are diving schools, while in Callele and Mataro international certificates are required for diving.
Since tourist places on the Mediterranean coast of Spain are very close to each other, having settled in one, you can see many surrounding resorts, and it is not necessary to take guided tours. Using public transport, from the resort centers of the Costa del Maresme you can make interesting excursions to the north, to the province of Costa Brava. This can be done by bus or train to Blanes. Here the railway ends, you can go by bus to the south.
Barcelona is a favorite tourist center, which is worth visiting not only in transit: many architectural sights and museums, the very spirit of the city captivates travelers.
It is no less interesting to visit Girona - you can go there through Barcelona or through Blanes with a transfer at Masanet - Massanes station.
In the midst of the tourist season, pleasure boats run between the resort towns of Costa del Maresme and Costa Brava. The cost of a one-way boat trip is 20-35 EUR depending on the distance.
The mild maritime climate of the Costa del Maresme makes the resort popular for both classic beach holidays and treatment. Surrounded by the mountain ranges of the Pyrenees, the Costa del Maresme is closed to most winds. There are about 275 sunny days here per year. The average summer temperature is +25-28 °C, in winter it drops to +8-10 °C. The beach season lasts from April to October.
