Turkey's fastest growing city, Antalya, is considered the second capital and main resort of the country. Nature has given Antalya a perfect climate and a picturesque landscape, so the number of tourists here is increasing every year, and today about half a million people from all over the world come here every year.
Despite the fact that the city mainly consists of massive concrete buildings, there is something to see here. The main places of pilgrimage for tourists are located in a tiny old quarter, but from Antalya you can easily go to the old Perge and Aspendos.
Antalya, which has become the center of the resort area, attracts tourists with rich historical heritage and unique nature. Antalya was founded in 159 BC by King Attalus of Pergamoia, from whom it received its name - Attalya. The city is rich in historical monuments, including Hadrian's Gate, erected in honor of the visit to the city by the Roman Emperor Hadrian in 130 AD.
Above the city stands an unusual Corrugated Minaret 37 meters high, built in the 13th century. Another unusual attraction is the Cut Minaret, destroyed at one time by lightning. Unique historical finds are exhibited at the Archaeological Museum of Antalya.
The colorful port, impressive architecture of the ancient city center (Adrian Gate, Corrugated Minaret), mild climate, opportunities for various sports and cultural events attract many tourists here.
The hotels have first-class service, massage, gyms, jacuzzi. The entertainment program for adults and children is diverse: you can play mini-football, water ski and parachute over the sea, as well as ride a "banana" and dive underwater.
