Karshavelush has long been famous for its wine, so you can try it almost everywhere. Carcavelos wine is made from a mixture of nine grape varieties, the main of which are Arinto, Bal, Galego Dourado, Negro Mole, Trincadeira and Torneiro. Wines are usually dry. Along the way, special fermentation wines are made - afabad, they contain a certain amount of sugar remaining until the end of fermentation. The strength of wine reaches 18-20%, it is added to the main one to give sweetness. The wines are then aged in oak barrels for 3-5 years, the wine has a red color and nutty taste.

Fort São Julian da Barra is a fort at the very beginning of the beach, which served as a political prison in the 18th-19th centuries. Jesuit followers, liberals and absolutists were imprisoned there, and now it is the official residence of the Portuguese Minister of Defense. On the bank at the mouth of the Tagus River stands the Bugio Lighthouse - a fort with a central tower lined with round stone. It was originally built of wood during the reign of King John III in the 17th century.
