Not far from the Church of Santa Maria is the main attraction of Alicante - the castle of Santa Barbara. Today, going up to the castle, you can see a striking view from above of Alicante itself and neighboring cities. The castle itself currently houses a history museum. On the other side of the city stands another castle of San Fernando (Castillo de San Fernando). Visiting this castle, you will be able to appreciate the work of the architects of that time, as well as admire the extraordinary beauty of the landscapes of the city and the embankment.
The busiest night area of the city of Alicante is San Juan: there is a market on the seashore from 18.00 to 02.00, and in numerous cafes you can see and listen to performances of artists performing "live" flamenco. The most famous places in San Juan are pub "Caligula" (pub "Caligula") and pub "Copyty" (pub "Copiti"), which is considered very elegant and is liked by people of all ages. Here, on Avenida de Condomina Street, there is a disco "Va Vepe", which is very popular with young people. If you did not come to Alicante in the summer months or if you want to relax without unnecessary noise, you can walk through the cafes and bars of the promenade (Explanada), and then go to the old part of the city - barrio de Santa Cruz. In this area you can listen to jazz at the "Desafinado" bar (near Rambia Street), relax in the cozy, unusually decorated bar "El Forat" (near the cinema "Astoria"). On the other side of Rambia, there are numerous nightclubs on Calle de San Fernando.
